The DT-038 is a round dining table built around a single top of natural luxury stone, drawn out to a generous Ø150 cm (a 150 cm / 1500 mm diameter circle). A round top this wide seats a full table without anyone reaching across a corner, and the unbroken circle lets the stone's veining read as one continuous field rather than being cut by edges or joints.
Natural stone is a quarried material, so no two tops are identical: white luxury marbles, for example, carry their own veining patterns, and each slab arrives one of a kind. Large dining tops like this benefit from stone's natural ability to be fabricated as a wide single surface, and the slab edge is shaped and polished during fabrication so the rim of the circle finishes cleanly all the way around.
Because natural marble is a softer, porous stone, it rewards a little care. Day to day, wipe the top with a pH-neutral soap in warm water and dry it to avoid water rings, and blot spills rather than rubbing them in. Keep acidic things off the surface (lemon, vinegar, wine and bleach-based cleaners react with marble and can leave dull etch marks), and use coasters, trivets and boards under glasses, hot dishes and cutting. Natural marble also benefits from periodic resealing, which reduces staining though it does not stop acid etching.
