Quartz-composite flexural strength: 30–40 MPa per ASTM C880, positioning between high-pressure laminate and natural granite. Premium grades utilize high-purity ground quartz with particle size distribution controlled to D50 20–50 μm to minimize resin-rich voids.
Resin content: 6–10% by mass; exceeding 10% reduces scratch resistance below Mohs 6 and compromises stone-like aesthetics. Binder chemistry: unsaturated polyester with methyl ethyl ketone peroxide (MEKP) initiator, 1.5–2.5% by weight, curing to 85–90% conversion.

Overview
Pigmentation: inorganic metal oxides (TiO₂, Fe₂O₃) for base colors; organic UV stabilizers (benzotriazole derivatives, 0.3–0.5%) for yellowing resistance—stability inferior to Fadior's PVD ceramic coatings (TiN, ZrN) deposited at 450°C per ISO 2409.
Material note
These surfaces soften the look of stainless steel and help the room feel more residential without losing practical performance.
Material note
They matter most where hands, heat, utensils, and visual wear all meet at one working surface.
Material note
The value here is not to imitate steel, but to give the system a calmer counterpoint in tone and texture.

Applications
Works best where the room needs a calmer upper surface to offset the precision and reflection of steel cabinetry.
