The main constraint was the wet-zone ritual: sink work, vegetable prep, coffee service, dish return, and platter storage all needed to happen within 6.4 m of travel. If the sink wall became too technical, it would dominate the dining view. If it became too soft, cleanup would damage the cabinetry over time.

Lake humidity and open terrace doors added another layer. The villa spends long hours with glazing open toward water, planting, and mountain air. Timber-only interiors around the sink, pantry, and vanity could swell, stain, or hold odors, so the cabinet core needed 304 stainless steel before the visible finishes were chosen.

Storage also needed discipline. A family villa carries pans, serving boards, breakfast equipment, guest glassware, towels, and cleaning supplies, but the dining table and terrace should not read as overflow storage. Fadior set an 86 kg island storage target and gave tall pantry volume a quiet wall position.

The visual risk was making durable planning look cold. The brief called for a room that could age with use, with tactile surfaces, shadow, and hand-finished calm. That meant the stainless platform had to disappear behind cypress, travertine, clay plaster, rice paper, and charred wall planes while still protecting the working zones.

The service sequence also needed to respect the villa's slower rhythm. Breakfast begins near the lake door, lunch moves toward the terrace, and evening cleanup returns through the pantry. Fadior kept those 3 moments readable without adding a second back kitchen or a visible utility corridor.
