Curved 304 Stainless Steel Wardrobes, London Villa

St John's Wood sits on the northern edge of Regent's Park, and its avenues of detached red-brick villas are among the most closely held addresses in London. This house is one of them. Its street elevation — curved brickwork, white sash windows, a stone portico over the front door — was retained, while the rest of the house was rebuilt behind it with a new basement. When the fit-out reached the joinery package, the client's team asked Fadior to deliver the whole-home cabinetry in 304 stainless steel and to bring it from Foshan to London ready to install. It is the first Fadior Real Home outside China, and the photographs below are the record of what was handed over.

A plan built on curves

The house is organised around curves rather than corners. A circular hall opens off the entrance, a rounded corner turns one of the reception rooms, and the attic follows the crescent of the roof. Every one of those radii had to be surveyed on site, drawn as a template and fabricated in Foshan to the millimetre, because a curved stainless steel carcass cannot be planed or scribed on site the way timber can. Compared with a straight run, a curved cabinet is a single sweep: in the hall, slim champagne-toned frames and clear glass grids follow the wall in one continuous arc beneath a ceiling of sculpted rings, and the shelving inside is lit from the frames so the curve reads at night as well as by day.

Dressing rooms and the attic wardrobes

The dressing rooms carry the same champagne palette. Stainless steel wardrobes with smoked-glass doors line the walls, and glass-topped islands with shallow drawers sit under crystal chandeliers on herringbone oak. In the attic the wardrobes bend with the eaves: a run of white curved doors follows the roof line under skylights, and a corridor of fluted glass doors in dark frames turns a long wall of storage into a lit, textured surface. The parquet changes from herringbone to a geometric star pattern as you move through the floor, and the cabinetry follows every change of level without a visible joint.

Kitchens, living spaces and the bathroom

The kitchens are quieter. Cream 304 stainless steel cabinets with panelled doors sit under a gold-trimmed ceiling around a central island, and a second run pairs arched glass upper cabinets with lit shelves and a marble worktop. In the living spaces the material changes register: black-framed glass display cabinets with lit shelves, a sage-green media wall and tall cabinets beneath a wave-form ceiling, and a curved counter unit with brass handles in a marble-floored room. The bathroom pairs a champagne double vanity with a veined marble top, a gold-framed mirror and a floral mosaic shower enclosure.

Why 304 stainless steel in a London house

The client's brief was shaped by the climate as much as by the design. In a house with long wet winters and solid masonry walls, the priority was cabinetry that does not swell, warp or off-gas over time. The glue-free 304 stainless steel cabinet body is formaldehyde-free; doors, finishes and worktops follow their own material specifications. Fadior handled the site survey, the bespoke curved fabrication in Foshan, the shipping and the installation in London as one delivery, which is the same process it uses for every whole-home project, only here across two continents.

From Foshan to St John's Wood

A curved carcass leaves no room for adjustment on site, so the sequence matters more than it does for a straight kitchen. Each radius in the house was measured on site and converted into a full-size template; every carcass, door and drawer box was then built in Fadior's Foshan factory against those templates before anything was shipped. The cabinetry travelled to London as finished modules and was assembled room by room — hall, dressing rooms, attic, kitchens, bathroom — with the glass fronts and lit shelving fitted last. It is the same sequence Fadior follows for every whole-home delivery in China; the difference here was the distance, and the fact that a wrong measurement could not be remade in a week.
