3D Wood Grain TransferFilm

Residential material guide

Luxury kitchen interior featuring 3D Wood Grain Transfer Film — Fadior

Substrate: 304 austenitic stainless steel, conforming to ASTM A240-23a (Cr: 18.0-20.0%, Ni: 8.0-10.5%, max C: 0.08%) and EN 10088-2:2014 Grade 1.4301. Tensile strength: 520-720 MPa (ASTM A240); yield strength: ≥205 MPa; elongation: ≥40%.

Surface architecture: Single-layer 80-120 μm dry powder epoxy-polyester hybrid coating (TGIC-free) applied via corona discharge electrostatic spray at 60-80 kV. The 3D wood-grain pattern derives from sublimation transfer using 12-18 μm PET carrier film (sourced from Hanwha TotalEnergies Chemical, South Korea) with solvent-free pigment dispersion.

Overview

How this finish changes the room mood.

Film alignment tolerance: ±0.5 mm across 3,000 mm panel length.

Bonding mechanism: Powder gelation at 140°C; crosslinking completion at 220°C ±2°C oven dwell (4.5 minutes at peak temperature). This creates interpenetrating polymer network (IPN) adhesion between steel oxide layer and transferred grain matrix, eliminating the adhesive interface found in laminate systems (typical HPL: urea-formaldehyde resin, 0.3-1.5 mg/L formaldehyde emission per EN 717-1).

Material note

Changes the room mood

This finish shifts how the stainless steel surface reads, from warmer and softer to cleaner and more reflective.

Material note

Keeps the metal base

The finish changes what you see and touch, while the stainless steel body underneath continues to carry the system.

Material note

Chosen by use, not only color

The right finish depends on light, touch frequency, maintenance expectations, and how decorative the room should feel.

Applications

Where it starts to make sense in a real room.

Finish-led rooms

Most useful where the cabinet body is already settled and the next decision is about warmth, reflection, texture, and maintenance.
