What should a Malaysian kitchen cabinet budget cover?
Kitchen cabinet Malaysia price comparisons start with a measured layout and the same cabinet body, doors, worktop, hardware and fitting scope. A ready-made unit, a promotional package and a rate per linear foot describe different purchases. Show cabinet runs, tall storage and islands. Our Malaysian cabinet buying guide helps establish that scope.
How much do Malaysian suppliers advertise?
Wayes Design’s cabinet price guide gives broad examples of RM250–RM450 (about US$62–US$111) per linear foot for basic laminate or melamine finishes, RM450–RM700 (US$111–US$172) for mid-range laminate or PVC finishes, and RM700–RM1,200 or more (US$172–US$295+) for premium finishes. Its guide is dated September 2025 and labels these as rough 2026 figures, with inclusions varying by supplier.
Kabinet Dapur’s April 2026 package guide advertises promotional simple packages from RM3,100 (about US$763) and premium packages from RM6,000 (US$1,477). Those are that supplier’s starting offers, not a Malaysian market average or a Fadior quotation. Request the current dimensions, material schedule and written inclusions. Its usual and claimed market comparison prices are promotional comparisons, rather than independent transaction evidence. Its separate footer offer has no matched cabinet schedule, so it is excluded from this comparison. Dollar equivalents use the midpoint of Bank Negara Malaysia’s 2 November 2026 USD buying and selling rates: US$1 = RM4.0625. Rounded conversions fluctuate; obtain a fresh rate for a formal quotation.
Why does a price per foot need more detail?
A linear-foot rate needs a defined cabinet run. Ask whether it covers base cabinets, wall units, the worktop or a combined package, and record cabinet height and depth. Tall cabinets, end panels, corners and appliance housings should appear as named items. An attractive rate becomes less useful when another quotation includes a different amount of storage.
Use the same drawing for each supplier. Separate measured run lengths from room floor area, and compare base and wall runs independently where the pricing method requires it. Our complete kitchen cost checklist helps organise those allowances. Do the arithmetic only after the supplier confirms what its measurement includes.
Which purchase type fits your room?
Choose a purchase route before comparing totals. Ready-made furniture can suit a defined storage need; a fitted system coordinates cabinets with the room and appliances. Each route needs its own dimensions, component list and fitting responsibilities.
| Purchase route | What the price describes | What to confirm |
|---|---|---|
| Standalone ready-made unit | One named furniture unit or variant. | External size, usable storage, assembly, delivery and any top. |
| Custom cabinet package | A supplier-defined arrangement at a starting price. | Drawing, run lengths, body and door materials, hardware and exclusions. |
| Per-linear-foot quotation | A stated length of a defined cabinet run. | Base or wall units, height, depth, top and how corners are measured. |
| Fadior fitted kitchen | A project proposal built around 304 stainless steel cabinet bodies. | Separately named doors, finishes, worktop, fittings and delivery responsibilities. |
How do aluminium and wood-based offers compare?
Compare aluminium, plywood, melamine-faced board and other proposed bodies as actual components. A door finish does not tell you what the body is made from. Ask for the offered substrate, exposed finish, edge treatment and care documents, then identify where water and frequent cleaning will occur. The guide to cabinet-body materials provides a useful next step.
Vhome’s Malaysian price examples mix material rates, apartment packages and larger custom kitchens. Its dimensions, installation percentage and promotional totals describe different scopes; they are not a formula for your room. Obtain a matched itemised offer instead. A percentage allowance cannot replace a written installation price for the actual work.
What changes when you choose Fadior?
Fadior uses 304 stainless steel cabinet bodies. Its Foshan manufacturing process includes fibre laser cutting and Salvagnini automated bending. Doors, surface finishes and worktops follow their own material specifications. This lets the structural body and the visible room palette be considered separately.
For your proposal, ask Fadior to identify the cabinet bodies on the room drawing, then list the chosen fronts and worktop alongside them. Compare that offer with the same storage layout and appliance requirements elsewhere. Our whole-order budget planning guide explains the complete-order approach. The relevant price is the price for your agreed kitchen, with its selected components and delivery scope.
How should wet and dry kitchens share the budget?
Budget each working area explicitly. A separate cooking kitchen may need its own cabinets, sink, hood connection and appliance space, while the open room serves coffee, preparation or dining. Show the doors and routes between them so the quotation follows how you will use the rooms.
In Fadior’s open and enclosed kitchen home, a Beijing residence places a grey-and-oak island kitchen beside dining and a dark cooking kitchen behind fluted glass. The enclosed room has a separate sink, hob, hood and appliance wall. Both kitchens use 304 stainless steel cabinet bodies with front finishes and worktops specified independently. The case illustrates the scope decision; it supplies no Malaysian price benchmark.
Which extras should appear as separate lines?
Ask for a clear list of what changes the total, including the selected hardware and worktop details. Wayes identifies delivery, installation, disposal, service alterations, backsplash and edging as items to confirm. Keep appliances and building work visible even when they are supplied by another contractor.
For an imported order, distinguish factory supply, freight, destination charges and local fitting. Name who checks the site measurements and who coordinates the worktop and service connections. Review planning an imported cabinet order before treating an overseas supply price as a completed local kitchen.
Why are online furniture prices so different?
KitchenZ’s home furniture collection mixes kitchen units with living-room, dining and shoe-storage furniture. Its East Malaysia kitchen collection lists separate base, wall, corner and tall units. Their listed lengths and prices describe individual products, not a complete fitted-kitchen budget. Other furniture dimensions, discounts and shipping promotions concern those separate purchases.
Luzano’s standalone cabinet is described as chipboard with tiles. Its main description and additional-information panel use inconsistent dimension units, so confirm the actual size and selected model before ordering. Related-product sale figures and delivery promises concern separate furniture purchases; they do not establish the price or lead time of your fitted kitchen. General marketplace vouchers and historical kitchen-budget ranges likewise need a current, matched quotation. Standalone-unit weights, stock counts and recent sales describe the individual furniture listing, so they are excluded from this room quotation.
What should you send for a useful quotation?
Send a measured plan, photographs of the existing room and the appliance models you intend to keep or buy. Mark sink and cooking locations, useful storage and the surfaces you want to see. Explain whether the request covers an open kitchen, an enclosed cooking room or both. This gives the supplier a defined order to price.
Ask each supplier to return an itemised proposal against that same plan. List alternatives separately so you can see the cost of changing a finish or storage feature without losing the base scope. Before paying, agree who takes final measurements, who installs each component and how changes are priced. Keep the signed drawing and component schedule together.
Which kitchen price questions do buyers ask most?
Use the answers below to narrow your enquiry, then discuss your kitchen project with the room plan and preferred materials. A useful quotation should leave you able to name the cabinets, visible finishes, worktop and delivery responsibilities you are buying. Request an updated offer when the drawing or selected products change.
